BECCA + JOHN
SWEET NOTHINGS: ROMANTIC ENGAGEMENT SESSION, RHODE ISLAND
What happens when a bunch of Bravo obsessed Swiftie’s meet over espresso martini’s? Well you’d be surprised… we’re still sitting here. Just kidding!
Becca and John met in December of 2015 on a three week study abroad trip to Spain and Morocco. They rang in 2016 together in Madrid, rode camels in the Sahara Desert, and immediately hit it off spending endless hours talking with one another on the bus rides to each destination they would travel to. A few months after their trip, John asked Becca to be his date to his Commencement Ball… The only catch was he didn’t have tickets and they would have to sneak in. They got dressed up, enjoyed beers and burgers at Union Station Brewery in downtown Providence and successfully snuck into the ball. (Only to do the exact same charade a year later at Becca’s Commencement Ball.)
After a few bike rides around Newport and sunsets at Castle Hill, John asked Becca out while celebrating 4th of July weekend in Bristol. Four years, one apartment, one dog, and one pandemic later, John decided he was going to ask Becca to marry him. With the help of Becca's best friend and maid of honor, Ali, he was able to successfully pull it off. Becca was under the impression that she was showing her friend Ali around Newport from getting coffee at the Nitro Cart to walking the Cliff Walk and later showing her Castle Hill. When they walked up the path to Castle Hill (after almost being turned around by the parking guard), there was John standing on the rocks in front of the lighthouse. He got down on one knee and the rest is now history!
